Keynote Speakers Bios

Morgan Kurk
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, CommScope

Morgan Kurk is executive vice president and chief technology officer for CommScope, a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks. Mr. Kurk was promoted to this position upon the close of the ARRIS acquisition in 2019. He previously served as CommScope’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Mr. Kurk has nearly 25 years of experience in the information and communication technology industries. He joined CommScope as senior vice president of the Enterprise business unit, then served as senior vice president and segment leader for the Mobility business, then as CommScope’s CTO, with overall responsibility for the company’s long-term vision and strategic direction, before finally assuming the role of COO.

Mr. Kurk holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Brown University, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Farid Firouzbakht
Senior Vice President and Segment Leader, Outdoor Wireless Networks

Farid Firouzbakht is senior vice president and segment leader of the Outdoor Wireless Networks business at CommScope. He’s responsible for overall vision and strategy of the macro and metro cell solutions—including base station antennas, RF filters, tower connectivity, microwave antennas, metro cell and cabinets/steel, accessories, spectrum access system, as well as Comsearch spectrum management products and services.

Previously Mr. Firouzbakht was senior vice president and general manager of RF products for CommScope Mobility Solutions, where he was responsible for a comprehensive portfolio of wireless network solutions.

Mr. Firouzbakht holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Ben Cardwell
Senior Vice President and Segment Lead, Venue and Campus Networks

Ben Cardwell is the senior vice president and segment lead for CommScope’s Venue and Campus Networks businesses at CommScope, a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks. In this role, he is responsible for leading the global business units that develop innovative wireline and wireless solutions for use in public and private networks for campuses, venues, data centers, and buildings around the world. Previously, Mr. Cardwell was CommScope’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, and earlier was senior vice president of global wireless sales, responsible for leading all CommScope customer-facing activities for the Wireless group globally. Mr. Cardwell graduated from Davidson College in North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in physics. He holds an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
